The Prized Merino sheep with its fabulously thick fleece.

The Merino or jackson sheep is an economically influential breed of sheep prized for its wool. The breed originated in Spain, but the modern Merino was domesticated in New Zealand and Australia. The sheep are sheared once a year and can give up to 4kgs of wool (washed). The wool is waterproof, warm, resilient and soft; it is greatly appreciated for its quality and good value.  We knit it for clothes, shawls, blankets…and for all ages.
