The slippers are worked starting with the leg ribbing, onto the top of the foot, then the sides of the
foot, finishing with the sole.
Cast on 38 st on 3 mm needles, work in 2/2 ribbing starting and ending with k2 for 10 rows. Put 12
st from each side on a holder and work the middle 14 st as follows: 1 st reverse st st, st number 11
then sts 1 to 11 from the small diamonds charts and 1 st reverse st st. Work for 16 rows (ie rows 1
to 14 then rows 1 and 2 of the chart) to make the top of the foot. Put these sts on a holder.
Work the 12 right sts left in waiting, pick up and knit 14 st on the 1st side of the top of the foot to
the st st, + 12 st of the 14 center sts, the first and last st will be cast off, + 14 st on the second side
of the foot + the 12 st on the left side in waiting = 64 st. Work in st st for 9 rows.
SOLE: put the side 26 st on hold and work on the 12 central st in garter st : work 11 st then k the
12th st together with the first st left on hold.
On the back of the work, ssk the 12th st with the 1st st of the st left in wainting. Continue decreasing
until you have only 6 st on each side and bind off.
Seam the sides of the heel. Sew the sole to the remaining 12 st.
